  • Nate Small, working as a guide in Antarctica

    Nate Small

I have worked in wildlife tourism and the marine world for 14 years and counting all around the world. Some of my highlights have been in the polar regions, as well as here in my own backyard. I've sailed the whole west coast (up to Juneau, Alaska) and east coast of Canada, and all through the arctic, and I am so thankful to be able to call this place home. Between being co-owner of a whale watching company, and working in the polar regions, I typically spend at least two thirds of my year out on the water. When not in Canada, I work in Antarctica (and previously the Arctic, and other parts of the globe) as an Expedition Leader, Trainer/PTGA Assessor, Presenter and Zodiac Driver. It's been a life of learning, and continues to be. I love sharing these experiences with the wonderful people I've met throughout the years.

  • Jeannine McCormack, working as a guide in Antarctica

I grew up on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada in a small village and my family spent much of our free time out on the water. I completed a degree in Wildlife Biology in 2005 and worked in Environmental Education for many years before getting into guiding. I love sharing information about wildlife and have been known to give impromptu naturalist talks in bars and on city streets! In our Northern summer, I work as a Boat Captain and Naturalist for our whale watching company. During the winter, I work as a Lecturer on Natural History and a Zodiac driver in Antarctica. I think I have the best job in the world (I get to go on vacation with people!) and I’m excited to meet the next generation of guides!
